Want a Permanent Solution for Your Sleep Problems? Natural Cures For Insomnia Are the Answer

are someone who regularly takes sleeping pills to get a good night’s sleep, here’s a question for you - have you ever considered trying natural cures for insomnia? If you haven’t, you should definitely consider trying them. There are some very good homeopathic remedies available to treat insomnia and you’ll be surprised to know that they are far more effective and safer than the sleeping pills you take.

First of all, you should know that insomnia is not as bad as you think. It is not a disease, but a symptom of a sleeping disorder. Usually, people do not get a good night’s sleep when their mind is preoccupied with something. It’s a psychological, rather than a physical problem. Stress, depression, and anxiety are the most common causes of insomnia. Physical exhaustion can be another reason, but this is usually only temporary. When your physical system heals itself and you are fully rested, your natural sleep rhythm will re-establish itself. To sum up, the main cause of insomnia is a psychological one. There are perfectly good natural insomnia cures available to treat this problem.

Natural homeopathic blends are completely non habit forming, unlike sleeping pills. You can take them regularly until you develop a very healthy, normal sleep - wake pattern. These cures usually contain herbal extracts which can relax your body and mind and help you get a good night’s sleep. Homeopathic remedies can be safely taken over the longer term as they have no side effects. If you take sleeping pills on a regular basis for any length of time, you’ll experience withdrawal symptom when you try and stop. With these natural cures for insomnia, you do not have to worry about all these problems.

One of the biggest differences between sleeping pills and these natural remedies is the way they work. While the former acts as a sedative and offers only temporary relief, the latter has a calming effect and offers a permanent relief. In short - natural insomnia cures are typically better and, more importantly, safer than sleeping pills.

Now, you might have a question - why homeopathy in particular? It’s a good question. There is a significant reason for choosing homeopathic remedies. To start with they are safe, being almost completely free from side effects. You cannot say the same about other types of natural remedies. Even herbal medications are not that safe when compared to homeopathy.

Herbal remedies tend to react with other medications and can cause some serious side effects. However homeopathic medications may safely be taken with any other type of medication. They do not interact or react in any way. This is why homeopathy is widely considered to be the correct option when treating insomnia.

Sleep is one of the most important factors that determine your health. More importantly, however, your sleep should be natural and not artificially induced by sleeping pills. Natural remedies are far more effective, safer, and they give you the best results. So consider relaxing your body and mind by changing to natural cures for insomnia. You’ll sleep better and, above all, stay healthier.

Sleep Without Snoring - Some Great Tips To Cure Snoring

An average human spends almost half his life sleeping. We achieve whatever we can in the remaining hours. Many people are successful at sleeping well, but there are some who don’t and some just cant sleep peacefully.

Among these people, come the snorers. They are constantly woken up subconsciously because of the lack of sufficient amount of air and also due to snoring.

These people keep praying that they will get a good night’s sleep. But when they finally realize that they can’t, they turn to remedial measures for it.

If you are one of these, you can relax. There are many ways to cure it temporarily or permanently. The only thing you need to do is find these cures and be ready to face the minor risks that may be bundled with them.

The preliminary step is knowing why you snore. Once the cause is zeroed down on, the cure can be found. This is commonly seen in diseases whose immediate cause is not known. They dont have immediate cures. The ad-hoc cures help relieve the sufferer to a small extent and the rest is in the hands of fate.

A high percentage of people who are overweight snore. So shed your extra pounds as soon as possible. Because of accumulation of fat in their throat, they have narrower air passages increasing chances of vibration. Fleshier air passages also increase the chances of resonance of this sound.

Do not take relaxants just before sleeping. Overly relaxed muscles have a tendency to flip flap and this leads to blockage of the air passage. This is why we snore only while sleeping and not while we are awake. Our muscles like the rest of our body, relaxes when we sleep. People who snore are often advised to sleep lighltly so that their muscles are kept tight.

Dont consume dairy products right before your bed time. These can lead to formation of mucus in the windpipe which further leads to snoring.

Sleep on your sides. Lying on your back is well known to aggravate snoring.

Sleeping at a regular time everyday makes your body adjust its body cycle likewise. So even if you do snore, you will get a good night’s rest. The lost sleep due to snoring can be compensated by developing a good sleep schedule and thoroughly relaxing your body.

Make your pillows harder. This makes your throat muscles tighten. Since only over relaxed muscles lead to snoring. So hard pillows can help alleviate snoring.

Keep your throat wet at all times to lessen this congestion.

Smoking eats away your lungs in the long run. In a short while itself, however, it alters the cells of your throat to make them tougher to adapt to the harsh substances in smoke. This causes snoring. Swelling and inflammation of the respiratory tract also arise from smoking.

Nasal strips which help a person breathe comfortably by clearing the air pipe are found to be effective at controlling snoring. Some people find anti snoring sprays and pills to be of greatest effect.

Hundreds of snoring-control devices have been innovated ranging from nasal valve dilators to beds whose elevation you can adjust. These are available both online and offline.

Dont anicipate every product to work. They normally work since they were kept keeping the following specific need in mind - To cure you of your nightmare.

How To Find a Cure For Snoring, The Truth

o know what the leading cause of marital strife is after money and infidelity? Would you believe snoring? This will come as no surprise to the wives and husbands of those who snore. Snoring causes frustration, divorce and even attempted murder. People will do whatever they must to ensure a good night’s sleep, in fact I know of a lady who went to the expense of building and extra bedroom on her house just to get away from the noise!

A grumpy partner is not the worst thing about snoring though. It can also have a serious impact on your health. Snoring may well mean you have Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in which you actually stop breathing for seconds at a time and finally wake up gasping for breath. This causes lack of oxygen in the bloodstream, disturbed sleep patterns and poor quality sleep.

Doctors are now warning that snoring and sleep apnea can lead to heart problems. The link between snoring and poor concentration and car accidents is well established. Throw in daytime drowsiness, poor moods and lack of concentration and you have many reasons to get this wretched disorder out of your life and as fast as possible. To best do this we need to find out what are the main causes for snoring.

Snoring is due to the soft tissues in the mouth and throat vibrating. This can be due to many reasons.

Being overweight - The more weight you carry, the more pressures you put on your diaphragm, lungs and breathing apparatus.

Sleeping on your back - This allows the mouth to drop open.

Alcohol - Drinking causes heavy sleeping.

Sleeping Pills - Sleeping pills induce heavy sleep and the snorer will sleep through a snoring episode.

Nicotine withdrawal - Smoking leads to withdrawal of nicotine from the bloodstream at night causing sleep disturbances and snoring

Based on these facts, some simple cures for snoring would be as follows:

1 - Make sure you don’t sleep on your back. Sew some cotton reels to the back of your pajamas. - Cut down on the alcohol and cigarettes.

2 - Use homeopathic or herbal remedies instead of sleeping drugs.

3 - Lose weight!

Of course this isn’t going to be enough to stop the serious snorer, so let’s have a look at some of the more popular “snoring cures” to see which have the best and most lasting results.

There are oral devices which physically depress the tongue, opening up the airway. Although some people find these devices helpful, others find them too uncomfortable to allow them to fall asleep. Some snorers find relief with a ’snoring ring” which works on the principle of acupressure. Others disagree and say it didn’t help at all.

Then there are the sprays, tablets and injections. These do not have a great success rate and are probably not even worth trying. The serious snoring cures are the C-Pap machine and of course snoring surgery. We are looking at serious money here, although C-Paps can be hired. If your snoring is in fact sleep apnea, then these two alternatives may be the best choice.

From listening to clients and even from my own experience, snoring exercises are the best priced and most effective way to permanently end snoring. Exercises strengthen the throat muscles which prevents the soft tissues collapsing into the throat. Together with prevention strategies and a healthy lifestyle, these exercises may mean the end of snoring for many people.

Dreaming That Your Baby Will Sleep Well…

Most parents just hope that their new baby will go to sleep easily and sleep for longer than just a couple of hours at a time.  You can have one child who quite literally “sleeps like a baby” and another who frets and cries their way through the night whilst you, the parent, drag yourself around in a ghost-like state of sleep deprivation for endless weeks and months.  There seems to be neither  rhyme nor reason as to why one child is different from another in their sleep patterns;  and the parent is subjected to the luck of the draw….But is this really the case?  We know that children have their own individual emotional type, but even so, surely there is SOMETHING that you can do to at least make it more probable that your new baby will sleep well?

And the answer to this question is definitely YES; there is something that you can do which will ensure the best chance to get your baby sleeping well.  Not only is there something that you can do, it’s something that is easy, doesn’t cost much money, and doesn’t take any time out of your day AND it is completely natural.  Does that sound too good to be true?  As a new mum, or dad, you not only need a good night’s sleep, you deserve it too!

Think for a moment about how a baby learns anything; they learn through watching, listening, feeling, miming and copying.  I was interested to see some friends recently, who had taught their one year old son to indicate to them if he wanted to eat, or to get down from the table, or to have a cuddle; He used sign language which he had been taught by his mum and dad.  Now, you don’t need to know “proper” sign language to do this, you can create your own signs, and by using them consistently when doing particular things, your child learns to associate that sign with that action and will use those signs to communicate what he or she needs or wants.  That’s pretty useful to the parent and gives the child greater feelings of comfort and control.

The human mind learns patterns of “stuff” which fit together; it learns associations.  And research has shown that this ability to make associations is evident even BEFORE your child is born.  For example, studies show that babies can distinguish between their mothers voice and another voice from well before birth, and also babies will at birth show greater recognition to particular words and phrases which were used as early as 26 weeks from conception.

The question is what can you do to take advantage of this natural instinct and encourage your baby to be a good sleeper?  Whilst pregnant your baby lives vicariously through you.  The more relaxed you are, the more relaxed your baby is too.  As you listen to a particular piece of music, so too does your baby.  As you respond in a particular way to that music, so too does your baby.  Certain types of music are designed to create a state of relaxation, and this can be shown scientifically by tracking your brain wave patterns.  As you drift off to sleep your brain waves alter from the beta waves of normal waking consciousness to the alpha, theta and delta waves of deeper relaxation, dreaming (the REM state) and sleep.  A simple step which you can take in order to create an instantaneous relaxation/get to sleep response in yourself, and therefore in the baby you are carrying, is to play this type of music each night as you go to bed and sleep.  That’s pretty simple, don’t you think?  And you get to learn to relax at will aswell as your baby!

This technique, however, hasn’t been shown to work for everyone.  (Even so, it’s worth a try; what have you got to lose?) You can, however, do something else which practically doubles your chances of success (getting you much closer to 100% chance of success) and that is to combine speech with music in a particular way – using hypnosis.

Hypnosis is natural and normal and therefore perfectly safe.  As you relax in hypnosis your brain waves once again make that shift to an alpha-theta pattern, paving a pathway to normal and natural sleep.  As you practice self hypnosis you drift into this state more and more quickly and easily as a strong association is built within your psyche…and your baby is learning this association vicariously through you.  And so by playing a self-hypnosis recording each night as you go to sleep you are training your baby to respond to that music and voice in exactly the same way.  When your baby is born you can pop the recording on whenever you want your baby to sleep.  Job done!!

Oh, and if your baby has already been born so you haven’t the opportunity for such pre-birth training, you can still train your baby to sleep using hypnosis, just as you can train your baby to associate signs with hunger, getting down from the table, cuddles and so on.  It works in the same way as you learn anything else.

Natural Cure For Insomnia - Sleeping Pills Can Kill!

Alright, so taking 1 or 2 sleeping pills won’t kill you, per say. But, did you know that there have been limited scientific studies on the long-term effects of these so-called “sleeping” pills? It’s true. So although these pills may be considered safe for the moment, who really knows what they could do to our system after years and years of constant use. That being said, why take that risk? Why not just try a natural cure for insomnia and kick that nasty sleeping pill habit?

Try a Natural Cure For Insomnia Below…

1. Cloth With Herbal Oil: Simply add a few drops of your favorite herbal oil to a small cloth or handkerchief and slide it into/underneath your pillow. So long as the herbal oil has a sleep inducing aroma — like that of lavender, passionflower, valerian, etc. — it should do the trick.

2. Warm Milk: This is a time old remedy to induce sleep and get relaxed. What you may not have known though, is that this remedy actually works. Warm milk has calcium which will soothe jagged nerves in the body, allowing you to get relaxed far more easily before bed. In addition, milk also has small amounts of tryptophan and melatonin, both of which can help you to sleep.

3. Lights Off: You may not consider this a natural cure for insomnia, as it seems a little too simple, but nevertheless, it does in fact work. By turning off the lights, you are increasing your body’s melatonin production. Light sources cut off melatonin production, an important hormone that helps us sleep each night.

4. Herbal Candles or Incense: Pick up a few herbal candles (make sure they are candles that have a sleep inducing effect) and light them up. Once lit, please them near where you sleep so that the scent can easily find it’s way to you.

Quick note about herbal candles: There’s a lot of fear surrounding the idea of having candles or incense burning while sleeping. Although it can be a serious danger to have fire burning when you’re asleep, you can easily take precautions to ensure your safety.

5. Sound Therapy: This has got to be the simplest natural cure for insomnia around. All you do is put in the insomnia sleeptrack cd/tape and then get into bed. The sound waves from the track will make their way into your brain and quickly lull you to sleep within minutes. These sleeptrack CD’s can easily be acquired online through numerous insomnia remedy websites.

How Fast Do These Sleep Remedies Work?

Most of these natural insomnia remedies will begin working immediately, allowing you to get so sleep sooner rather than later. It’s safe to say that with using any of these remedies, you should be fast asleep in about 10-20 minutes, if even that.

Are These Remedies Really Better Than Sleeping Pills?

To be 100% honest, yes, they are better. Even if a sleeping pill can put you to sleep in 2 minutes, it’s not worth the possible long term effects that may come from regularly ingesting sleeping pills. With natural cures for insomnia, there are no side-effects or possible long term drawbacks. If anything at all, the regular use of a natural insomnia remedy will make you MORE prone to getting sound sleep EACH & EVERY night.

If you don’t think a natural cure for insomnia is the best choice for you, well, that’s your prerogative. As for the rest of us, I’m sure we won’t lose one wink of sleep over your poor decision.

5 Insomnia Cures You Thought Were Ridiculous

There are certain insomnia cures in this world, ones that most of our friends and family prescribe as if they could guarantee a good night’s sleep. Such cures are often notoriously oversimplified, comical and sometimes downright infuriating. These are the people, God love them, who just don’t get why insomnia is a serious problem because for them - as for most - sleeping and feeling rested in the day is a natural and automatic function of their physiology. They just do not have a capacity to relate to those of us that simply can’t sleep for days on end, nor do they understand how it affects our quality of life.

The problem is that some of the more annoying things people like this give as advice actually can help us with sleeplessness, but due to the gravity of our problem we tend to overlook the obvious at times. I know when my sister says “You’ll sleep fine if you just stop drinking coffee” I quietly explain that “it’s just not that simple”, and then I go somewhere so I can beat my head against the wall in abject frustration.

For some of us though, it really is as simple as … say… turning of the radio, or fixing the leaky pipe that drips aural madness into our ears. Yes, insomnia is a very complex problem with many far reaching causes and conditions, but in some cases it’s not necessarily a complex solution. We must be very careful not to overlook what may contribute to our problem just because it seems so brain dead or simple.

The following are a few of the more elementary cures that people have likely mentioned to you at least once, and a few that you may not have known about that have proven effective in certain transient sleep disorders. My advice is that if you haven’t tried the following you should, as every little bit helps.

1. Avoid caffeine after 3 pm. This may seem ridiculously over stated but there are many products containing caffeine that we are not necessarily aware of. For example, many pain relievers contain caffeine - such as extra strength Panadol/ Tylenol. You may cure your headache at the expense of sleep. Also note that Tea can give you as much of a caffeine fix as coffee. Try to be vigilant about what you put in your body and read the ingredients when you’re not sure - as you can be getting stimulants in your blood stream at the exact wrong moment, without even knowing it.

2. Don’t read, watch TV, or plan your next vacation while you’re in bed. You have to develop a rule about the bed and bedroom, which is that your bedroom exists for two reasons only; sleeping and having ***. If you have a 42″ Plasma and your IMac in your bedroom, get rid of them. If you have a stack of great books and magazines on your night stand, put them elsewhere. Your goal is to train your mind to do what should come natural, to trigger your body to react to your sleep location by adjusting and relaxing. Where you rest your bones has to be conducive to a good nights sleep, not a place where you can watch a movie, check your emails, or read about skydiving.

3. Get some sunlight during the day. If you can’t get sunlight, look into some form of light therapy. In future articles I will detail some light therapies known to have positive results. Getting vitamin A through sunlight is very beneficial to your body in the first place, but it has also been known to help people sleep at night. Studies show that people who don’t receive enough sunlight are far more prone to sleep disorders, and it’s also well known that sunlight is necessary to regulate your body’s circadian rhythm.

4. Start a journal. You may ask how this would help you sleep, but it is a powerful technique known to help certain sleep disorders. Anything worth noting is worth worrying over, and for most of us letting go of daily problems and ambitions is not that easy. Somehow by documenting our daily activity it can allow us to purge ourselves from problems that would otherwise keep us awake, obsessing to find answers.

5. Find your Zen. There is always one scene that we can find in our minds eye that will relax us. Some of us may have a harder time figuring out what that scene is, but somewhere in the annals of time there exists a memory wherein we were completely at peace and relaxed. Once you discover what that scene is for you, practice recalling it by remembering how it smelled, what you heard, how your body temperature was, e.t.c… Sensory recall is a very powerful trigger, so use it to recall calm and restful moments.

Trying these things for a few days and giving up is not effective, as most of these techniques require a period of time for your body to adjust. However most of what is listed above is crucial to ensuring you can get a good nights rest and things that should never be taken for granted or ignored. They are not so much techniques as lifestyle adjustments, so before you run off to get your insomnia cures from a doctor or your local pub, make sure you have treated your own environment accordingly. It may be all you need to get a good nights rest.

The Best Snoring Cure

If you and your spouse suffer from horrible snoring, You are not alone. According to a report on BBC Breakfast television this morning, 5 Mar 09, 25% of people snore.

Snoring can pose a serious threat to your relationship.  Staying awake night after night listening to your loved snoring (and sleeping) can be seriously irritating, as can repeatedly being woken as your spouse nudges you in increasingly desperate attempts to get you to stop snoring so that they too can get some sleep.

Snoring can also be life-threatening and cause serious health problems.  Losing concentration when you are driving, or perhaps just trying to cross a busy road can cause a serious threat to both yourself and other road users.

Add to that the physical and emotion stress of sleep deprivation which can lead to serious health problems such as a stroke, heart attack of nervous breakdown.

Trying to pretend that you don’t snore won’t help, your partner will become increasingly irritated, both by the broken nights and by your refusal to address the problem.

The good news is that you CAN cure your snoring. If you are reading this you are probably determined to help yourself and/or your partner.  You might already have tried several ways to cure the snore.  You are probably desperate for an unbroken night’s sleep.

First, let’s just look at what causes snoring

Snoring is the result of some kind of blockage somewhere in the breathing passage.  This blockage causes the airflow to become irregular.  This forced breathing causes the soft tissues in your breathing passage to vibrate - making that horrible snoring sound that you are so cursed by.

The loudest snoring occurs when the soft palate (at the back of your mouth, behind your rear teeth) vibrates.  In the worst cases, the tip of the soft palate can begin beating on the tongue, like a drum.

Your tongue could even be falling back into your throat. You can probably see by now that curing snoring can be difficult.

Although snoring is caused by a blockage in the breathing passages the site and type of the blockage can vary - and some people can have more than one blockage.  Here are a few potential causes of your snoring.

1) Some sufferers have a weak throat, which falls in when they sleep.  These people often suffer from sleep apnea.

2) Some sufferers have a weak tongue.  The tongue falls backwards into the throat causing a blockage.  This is most commonly found with people who sleep on their back - although it can also happen if you sleep on your side.

3) Tension in the jaw can cause pressure on and narrowing of the breathing passages. Many people suffering from tension in the jaw are so used to it that they are unaware of it unless, or until, they start to relax that tension.

4) Some sufferers have a weak and floppy soft palate.  This can literally flap around like a leaf blowing in the wind.  Sometimes these sufferers resort to surgery to remove part of the soft palate.  This isn’t necessary.  Exercising it correctly a few times daily will firm it up and stop it flopping about.

5) No muscle in the body works alone.  They are all connected.  Tension in the neck and shoulder area increases tension around the throat area.

6) Lastly something building up in your throat acts as a dam, restricting your breathing passages.  This is most commonly caused by deposits of fat or by smoking, or perhaps by an allergy affecting the nasal passages.

These are some of the most common causes of snoring, but there are many others.

Snoring Cure

When you think about it, it’s obvious that you can tone, train and improve the muscles and tissues of the breathing passages just as you can for any other part of your body.

You don’t want a long, complicated routine that you can’t or won’t stick to.  You want a simple, gentle, quick routine which will ensure that your breathing passages are toned and in the best possible shape. A few simple exercises, performed regularly can and will cure your snoring, no matter what is causing your blockage.

The exercises will open up and strengthen the whole area from your voice box right up to your nasal passages.  They will burn of any fat deposited there and clean out those tarry deposits caused by smoking.

What the Exercises will achieve

1)    Your tongues will be strengthened, stopping it from falling into your throat while you sleep.

2)    Your jaw muscles will be loosened, removing the pressure on your breathing passages.  The effect of this exercise alone will amaze you.

3)    Your jaw will return to a normal, healthy position.

4)    Throat exercises will strengthen your throat and lift and firm the soft palate

The Training is Simple and Easy

It is up to you to decide how much time you want to spend each day on the exercises, although you should set aside at least 3 minutes.  For permanent results you should aim to spend 7 - 12 minutes a day working on the exercises.

Once your snoring is cured, you may not need to continue with the exercises.

For speedy and permanent results it is recommended that you follow the 10 minutes a day program.

How long the exercises take to cure you varies from person to person.  Some will be cured  quickly and some will take up to two months.

If you are prepared to commit yourself for two months, this program guarantees that you will be cured.

I’m certain by now that you can’t wait to try these exercises for yourself.  You can even try one for FREE.  Just go to the best snoring cure and start on the road to a peaceful, snore free night.

With the evident consequences of snoring problems, there have been numerous treatment solutions and intervention measures created and put on the market for you to choose from.

There are treatment types like:

- Natural treatment measures

- Medication intervention approaches

- Stop snoring exercise program

- Lifestyle changes.

But what treatment actually works for you and for your sleeping partner? Are the new medical and technological solutions actually better than the traditional and natural solutions? To find a solution that is proper and suited to your snoring problems you need to compare all those treatments and anti snoring solutions.

How do you compare snoring cures?

The common approach to compare treatments is through considering various snoring cure reviews, forums, and publications about snoring. But you can also compare them based on the opinion and suggestions of other people who have already tried and experienced these solutions. Either way it is important to gather information and evaluate the possibilities.

What is our opinion?

Snoring is not a new problem, snoring probably exist form the beginning of mankind so there are also a lot of traditional snoring cures, but the last few years there are also some new developments in the medical and technological field. And although many people say that the results still vary there are a few treatments that in our eyes have proved to be effective no matter what the factors are. (such as the cause of the snoring problem and the condition of the person involved)

A few cures we found very useful are:

- A Stop snoring exercise program

- A Snore no more pillow

Almost always one of the two solutions or a combination of the both have proved to be an effective snoring cure.

Basically, aromatherapy involves candles, oils, and scents that you’ll make use of during “sleep” time. These scents are generally made up of natural insomnia herbs that are proven to have a sleep inducing effect: herbs like Valerian, Chamomile, Passionflower, and Lavender.

While some may choose to use a scented candle, others may use herbal oils that they have added to their warm bath. If neither of those options are preferred, some insomniacs may choose to add a few drops of herbal oil to a handkerchief and then slide it under their pillow at night.

2. Sound Therapy (Sleeptracks): Among natural cures for insomnia, sound therapy is one of the easiest and most convenient. All you have to do is put in the sleeptracks tape/cd and then try to go to sleep.

The sounds, rhythms, and subtle pulses from the track will sooth and relax you greatly, allowing you to fall asleep within minutes instead of hours. In all seriousness, it’s like the sound waves are massaging your brain ever so gently. Most insomniacs who utilize this natural cure for insomnia find that they fall fast asleep within just 5-10 minutes of putting the CD in.

3. Improved Sleeping Environment: You don’t think this is a natural remedy for insomnia? Well, you’re wrong. By improving the habitat in which you sleep, not only will you get to sleep faster, but you’ll stay asleep longer, guaranteed!

How can you improve you’re sleeping environment? Simple, by making a couple of quick changes.

If your bed doesn’t support your weight each time you go to bed at night, it’s time to chuck it and get one that does. If you like to have the TV on while you sleep, you have to break that habit and turn it off. If you like the temperature to be really warm while you sleep, you have to brave the cold and turn it way, way down.

Why do you have to implement these changes for better sleep? Take a look below to find out…

A bed that fully supports your weight allows for your body to rest comfortably rather than in awkward alignment. It’s better for the back, not to mention the spine.

A completely dark room helps your body produce melatonin, which aids you in sleep. Light sources will stop melatonin production, thereby making it harder for you to sleep well at night.

When sleeping in a warm room, most people toss and turn during the night. By getting the room temperature to about 65 degrees, you will be more comfortable and be able to sleep more peacefully. Besides, staying and keeping warm is what your blanket is for, right?

These are just 3 of the natural cures for insomnia that you can use to relieve your insomnia symptoms; there are plenty more out there. That aside, these three cures alone should be enough to convince you that sleep aids are purely for dummies!

Insomnia Cures: My Story

Insomnia is one of those words that scare most people.  The word ‘Insomnia’ scares most people either because they do not know what it is, or do not know how to deal with it.  If you have Insomnia, you do not want to ‘deal’ with it, rather solve the mystery of missing sleep and cure the Insomnia that plagues us.

Some people only miss a few hours a night (I like to call these people the Lucky Ones), where others miss days at a time (I like to call these people Insomnia Zombies).  Whether you miss a few hours of precious sleep a night, or miss days at a time, Insomnia still is a serious problem that can and will change the way you live your life.

I myself am one of those unlucky zombies that do not sleep for days at end.  I am getting use to not sleeping the required eight hours so many people say every healthy person needs to have.  But I do not want my lack of sleep to be a way of life for me, I want a cure.

I am sure we all want a cure to whatever it is that bothers us.  As for Insomnia, I am very hopeful that help is out there.  Insomnia cures is a major thought on my tired brain.  I am constantly looking for new ways that might help me get back to my normal sleeping pattern.  It has been such a long time since I have gotten eight hours of sleep in one night that I tend to forget what that ever felt like.  Unless my memory is incorrect, I love getting at least eight hours of sleep in a night.  I remember waking up after a good night’s sleep and feeling refreshed and ready to tackle anything that may come my way.  I, like you I am sure, do not want sleep and rest to be a mere memory, but would rather it be a reality today.

I can remember when I was a lot younger, around the time I started college, I might only get a few hours of sleep a night.  Between a full class load and working graveyard shifts at a 24 hour convenience store to help pay  for my college tuition ( which by the way was ridiculously expensive, but that is another story for another time), I would have nights where I would not get a proper nights sleep. At the time I thought missing a few hour here and there was an awful thing, now I tend to miss those days because they remind me of a time when I could put my tired head down on my vacant pillow and sleep!  They were precious moments.  Sleeping should not be taken for granted.

I wish I could go back to the days of normality.  Go back to a time when I was able to rest and wake up feeling new again.  I sometimes wonder what it feels like to wake up with the sunshine in my face and the desire to take on the day.  With Insomnia, that desire has faded and I am left alone with very long days.

Amidst the long days of being forever tired, I still carry with me hope that there is a cure for Insomnia.  If I do not have sleep, at least I still have Hope.  Take these words with you on your journey for a cure, and best of luck through your dark days.
